Second hike over to Discovery Bay over Tigers Head this week; 7.5 miles. This time with Jan Rutten and strangely enough we hiked slower than I did before, two days earlier.
Was invited to a Hash Run on Peng Chau by Marcel Van Houten and Jamie Day. Just shy of 4 miles and then a quick refreshment and food afterwards. Excellent day out and probably the longest I have run in years.
Yet another hike to Mui Wo from Tung Chung, Lantau, with Marcel and Pipi. Never appreciated there was the large waterfall before. Clearly, being managed in the past to collect water for local distribution.
I don’t take my camera every day on walks. This one I did and you will see how clear the Hong Kong skies are without the factories working. Sad to see the beach in Mui Wo shut down and enlightening to see the huge spiders spinning their webs.
Hike to Mui Wo on the 21st June 2020 in pictures.
Short hike with two friends to local playwark then Handi Restuarant.
A hike from my apartment to Tai-O. Could not believe how much rubbish is on the seashore, China, India, Bangladesh and all the other culprits need to stop discarding their rubbish into our Oceans.
Just more picture on route from Tung Chung to Mui Wo.
I was invited by Marcel Van Houten and Jamie Day to run my inaugural Hash run in North Lantau organised by the South Lantau Hash House Harriers. This will be probably the last for a while as groups more than 4 people are no longer allowed by the Hong Kong government…
On Wednesday, with three other friends, Jason, Marcel and Jamie and I walked up the steps behind Caribbean Coast, Tung Chung upwards towards Sunset Peak. Fortunately, for my weary legs there was an option to turn left to Pak Mong village and avoid going all the way to Sunset Peak….
5 mike hike from Citygate Tung Chung to the Big Buddha.
Sunday Hike from Discovery Bay to Mui Wo. Then a bite to eat in the “Kitchen” restaurant.
Another day and another hike. Didn’t take very many pictures on route to Mui Wo. Then a few on the Ferry ride to Discovery Bay.
10.7 mile hike from Tung Chung to the little village of Tai O. Tai O is predominately a fishing village / tourist village. Unfortunately, I don’t have a zoom lens to get close to the aircraft at Chep Lap Kok, but its a very sad sign to see the fleet…
I will upload the Strava route later. A pleasant hike skirting Sunset Peak from the pass and finishing a short distance from Mui Wo, where you have the option to complete the hike into Mui Wo or return to Tung Chung via bus.
