GR Yaris – Phase 2 prices

The new Toyota GR Yaris is expected to be one of the most in-demand new cars of 2024, building on the critical acclaim and public popularity of the original model which brought authentic World Rally-bred engineering to the road.

With only very limited numbers of the new GR Yaris available this year, Toyota (GB) is putting a tailor-made sales process in place to help ensure fairness. The company will be contacting existing GR Yaris owners and those who joined the waiting list for the car before its closure in May 2022. These customers will have the chance to enter a ballot for the opportunity to purchase a new GR Yaris from the UK’s 2024 allocation. Details of the process will be finalised and shared with customers in May.

Model range and pricing

Four versions of the new GR Yaris are available, including special editions developed with personal input from Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Champions Sébastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanperä.

The new GR Yaris

The new GR Yaris benefits from significant engineering enhancements, including an evolution of the world-leading turbocharged three-cylinder engine to deliver even more power and torque and the introduction of an optional brand-new eight-speed Gazoo Racing Direct Automatic Transmission, engineered for competition-fast gear changes. Maximum power and torque figures have risen to 276bhp/280 DIN hp and 390Nm.

The bespoke GR Yaris chassis has been further strengthened and in the cabin the cockpit layout and driving position have been redrawn for a more authentic sports car feel, whether on-road driving or in motorsports competition. The suspension has also been adjusted for greater handling control and robust performance under high loads, with revised spring rates and a strengthened front shock absorber assembly.

The car continues to use Toyota’s GR-FOUR electronically controlled, permanent all-wheel drive system. The distribution of torque between the front and rear axles is governed by a high-response coupling, while two Torsen limited-slip differentials manage the split between the left and right-side wheels to give natural and direct car control.

Special editions

Two special edition versions of the new GR Yaris are adding an extra layer of appeal to the model range, developed with personal input from Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team (TGR-WRT) champion drivers Sébastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanperä.

In each car the “Gravel” and “Track” AWD modes featured on the standard GR Yaris have been replaced with settings reprogrammed to reflect each driver’s personal preferences for handling and performance. The “special edition” quality also includes distinctive new exterior and interior styling features. Both use the six-speed intelligent manual transmission.
